Our history in Greece

Newrest, has been operating in Greece since 1996 in the field of inflight and catering to airlines and healthcare establishments. Newrest began operating  in several Greek islands and in Thessaloniki, serving its dedicated network customer profile and later on, in 2001, invested in a building at Athens International Airport, which also hosts its head office .

Newrest Greece has catering units in six airports throughout the country: Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes and Corfu. Newrest has acquired a long experience in managing airlines business lounges at Athens and Thessaloniki airports.

Newrest Greece is very proud to announce that on March 7, 2019, ATH unit received an American Airlines award as Caterer of the Year 2018 for Seasonal Stations, Europe. Additionally, on November 12, 2019, Newrest ATH was also awarded by Lufthansa; the Silver Award for outstanding service and support; meaning second globally.

At the same time, Newrest has developed a large customer portfolio in Contract Catering sector with strategic partnerships that have been maintained to date, and with continued investment in innovative ideas and expertise, it maintains a large market share in this field.

Athens Central Production Unit (CPU)

In 2001, Newrest Group started the operation of the central production unit in Athens International Airport Elefhterios Venizelos.

The unit operates in contract catering with companies and organizations as well as in in-flight catering and is fully experienced in the provision of lounge services for important airline companies like Aegean Airlines, Lufthansa and Skyserv.

Newrest Athens Unit is certified with ISO 22000:2018, ISO 9001:2015, 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015 and Halal certification.

Thessaloniki Unit

Newrest Greece opened its Thessaloniki unit in 1996. It’ s main activity is in-flight catering and provides lounge services for Aegean Airlines.

Newrest, also, offers catering services to companies and administrations.

The unit is certified with: ISO 22000:2018, ISO 14001:2015.

Chania Unit

Unit startup: 2001

Its main activity is in-flight catering. The unit is certified with ISO 22000:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.

Herakleion Unit

Unit startup: 1996

The main activity of the unit is in-flight catering.
The unit is certified with ISO 22000:2018 & ISO 14001:2015.

Rhodes unit

Unit startup: 1996

The main activity of this unit is in-flight catering.
The unit is certified with ISO 22000:2018, ISO 14001:2015

Corfu unit

Unit startup: 1996

The main activity of unit is in-flight catering.
